"No! No! No! Aaahh!"
―The droid being tortured[2]

This EG-6 power droid was present in Jabba's Palace around 4 ABY. It was in the palace of Jabba the Hutt when C-3PO and R2-D2 came to the palace as part of the rescue of Han Solo. It squealed in pain as 8D8, under the command of its supervisor droid EV-9D9, lowered a hot glowing iron on the soles of its feet.[2]

Behind the scenes

This unnamed character was known as the "Dustbin Droid" during the production of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi and was called that in the Return of the Jedi Giant Collector's Compendium. A Topps trading card called it a "Dustbin Robot."[3] Although most sources claim the power droid was portrayed by Ewok actor Kiran Shah, Callsheets instead list actress Carol Read as "Dustbin Droid", which Shah listed as "Droid (SFX)".[4] In Star Wars: Battlefront II, in the Jabba's Palace level, the droid can be heard screaming.
