A Castaway lived on the Island after crash-landing on the planet.[1]
Biography
A mysterious new world
Soaring through Hyperspace, the pilot sat asleep when the ship was suddenly pulled out of hyperspace and emerged inside of a maelstrom. Awakened, they began to panic as the ship was truck by lightning which caused it to plummet to the planet below. At the planet's surface, the pilot held on tight as the ship skipped across the ocean, falling apart in the process. What remained of the ship came to a halt on the beach of an island before crumbling to pieces around the pilot. Getting up from the wreckage, the pilot looked in amazement at the inhabited island. A Twi'lek then arrived at the scene of the crash and introduced herself as Fae Doktut, before asking if the pilot was okay. She then told the pilot that someone named "TU-TOR" was going to be so excited to meet them and for them to go to the Observatory to introduce themself.[1]
Arriving at the entrance of the Observatory, the newest off-worlder met TU-TOR, a droid who had been on the island longer than anyone else. TU-TOR explained to the off-worlder that she was the curator and caretaker of the Observatory, which was built by the Sacred Order of Ramulus and housed all the collected knowledge and wisdom in all of the known galaxy. During her explanation, the Observatory's data was suddenly under attack, again, by a mysterious virus called "corruption." Seeking help from the off-worlder, TU-TOR gave them a Virus-Removing Oddly Operated Machine and asked them to enter the HoloSimulator attached to the Observatory to go and remove the corruption. The off-worlder entered the simulation and found themselves inside of the Tantive IV, where they began to search for the corruption. Making their way through the ship, they eventually found a Corruption Node and began striking it with their V.R.O.O.M. until it was destroyed, cleansing the area of corruption.[1]
Upon leaving the HoloSim and returning to TU-TOR, the droid explained to the off-worlder that there was no way to leave the planet due to the maelstrom. TU-TOR then officially welcomed the off-worlder, now one of the Castaways of The Island. Exploring their new home, the Castaway met Kivo Doktut, a Twi'lek and Fae Doktut's father who ran a shop on The Island that sold a large variety of headgear. After purchasing a helmet, Kivo Doktut recommended the Castaway should go meet an individual named Tolar Panro. Meeting up with Tolar Panro, the Castaway learned that Panro was a type of Class Master called a Trooper Master. Impressed with their abilities, Panro gave the Castaway an E-11 blaster rifle and thermal detonators to use in the HoloSims. Wanting to test out their new weapons, the Castaway entered the HoloSimulator and found themselves in the Mos Eisley spaceport. After successfully destroying two more Corruption Nodes, the Castaway was gifted a scatterblaster by Trooper Master Tolar Panro. Again the Castaway ran back into the HoloSimulator to test out their new scatterblaster and found themselves inside the Death Star, to which they destroyed another two Corruption Nodes.[1]
The Castaways
- "Oh, OH! You're the new arrival, right? The one who left all that wreckage on the beach? Oh, it's so wonderful to meet you!"
- ―Laurasta Vertoa
After the their first few adventures in the HoloSimulator, Fae Doktut suggested they meet some of the locals.[1]
The first individual the Castaway met was the Mon Calamari Herrok Jani. During their conversation, Herrok Jani apologized for being so down and explained that the reason for his bad mood was that he could not dance. He asked if the Castaway could show him some moves, to which they impressed Herrok Jani with a dance. The Castaway then met a Bith named Gibben Phom who told them that they made quite the entrance. He the told the Castaway that if they wanted to fit in around The Island, they had to keep things stylish. He then gifted them a pair of pants which the Castaway tried on immediately. The Castaway then met Tith T'rind, the shopkeeper of T'rind's Trinkets. She welcomed the newest Castaway to her shop, stating she offered only the finest items. She then explained to the Castaway that she only accepted probits for her premium wares. She then told them how to go about getting probits before giving the Castaway twenty probits to help them on their way. The Castaway then introduced themself to the island's event planner, Kars Kussix. Kussix told the Castaway that he was the self-appointed Events and Entertainment Representative for The Island, and welcomed them in joining in the fun of the many events he had planned. The Castaway also met the Twi'lek Sezuke Yanzec who ran a shop on The Island.[1]
After getting to know some of the locals, the Castaway met back up with Fae Doktut who wanted to show them the exciting Vehicle HoloSimulator. Wanting to try out the Vehicle HoloSims, the Castaway introduced themself to Laurasta Vertoa, a Mirialan mechanic who helped operate the HoloSims. Laurasta Vertoa and the Castaway introduced each other before she directed them towards Ossa Grum, the one who taught pilots to fly in the Vehicle HoloSimulator. Talking with Ossa Grum, she agreed to let the Castaway fly through the new training exercise she and Laurasta programmed. Entering the Vehicle HoloSim, the Castaway found themself piloting an X-wing starfighter through an asteroid field, avoiding asteroids and destroying TIE fighters. After the successful training mission, Ossa sent the Castaway on a second training mission, this time they flew through the Death Star. After the combat focused training flight through the battle station, Ossa was so impressed by the Castaway's performance that she gave them permission to use the HoloSims anytime they wanted.[1]
Exploring The Island more, they met the human Colric Whitcro. Colric Whitcro told them about the Datadrive TU-TOR had given to the Castaway, how everyone on The Island had one and how it was mostly used as a "digital wallet" for storing databits. Colric then offered to upgrade the Castaway's Datadrive, which gave it more storage to hold more databits, and said to check in from time to time to receive more upgrades. Colric also said that they heard interesting rumblings coming from the spaceport and rumors that Lax Torios was working on something exciting. Curios, the Castaway went to the spaceport to meet Lax Torios, a mechanic who just made a breakthrough in island transportation technology. She built lots of new ships for the island's inhabitants to ride around on, but unfortunately she still needed a little bit more mechanical data. Lax Torios asked the Castaway to obtain a mechanical datacube from a Jawa in the HoloSimulator, which the Castaway agreed to help. After bringing Lax Torios the datacube, she discovered that the data was incomplete and asked the Castaway to go talk to Laurasta Vertoa. Laurasta looked over the data and determined that it was useless without flight records to compare it against. Jumping into a Vehicle HoloSim, the Castaway was able to gather the necessary flight data and brought the datacube back to Lax Torios. Lax thanked the Castaway for their help and showed them all the new vehicles she had been working on.[1]
