- "Yes, commander?"
"We discovered that Jabba the Hutt has also hired bounty hunters to track down his son, and we've followed them to a monastery on the planet Teth." - ―Jedi General Mace Windu, and the commander
This Advanced Recon Force trooper served as a commander early during the Clone Wars. The Clone Commander, along with a fellow lieutenant, was tasked with tracking down Jabba Desilijic Tiure's son, Rotta who was kidnapped by bounty hunters.
Biography
- "We feel it's where Jabba's son is, but it's too heavily fortified for us to do anything alone, sir."
"Commander, stay out of sight and await further orders."
"Will do, sir." - ―The commander, and Jedi General Mace Windu
Grown on the planet Kamino from the DNA of Jango Fett,[1] a bounty hunter who became the template of the clone trooper army,[4] this clone was a Clone Commander and Advanced Recon Force Scout Trooper in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, serving within a regiment.[3]
After crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure's son, Rotta, was kidnapped by alleged bounty hunters, the commander was dispatched along with an ARF trooper lieutenant in a Nu-class attack/transport shuttle to track down the bounty hunters and Rotta. Jabba himself sent bounty hunters to locate his missing son, which were tracked by the ARF troopers to the B'omarr Order Monastery on the planet of Teth. The commander ordered the lieutenant to contact Jedi General Mace Windu, and the commander then informed him on the situation.[3]
The ARF Commander and the ARF Lieutenant report to Skywalker.
The commander informed Windu that the monastery was too heavily fortified for them to take any action alone, and received the order to stay hidden and to await further orders. Once Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and the 501st Legion arrived in the Teth system, the ARF troopers departed Teth's surface and landed in Skywalker's Acclamator-class transgalactic military assault ship. Landing in the hangar, the lieutenant confirmed to Skywalker that they were not spotted as they were the best scouts in the regiment, and reported to Skywalker that there were at least two droid battalions protecting the monastery, thus landing on the monastery would not be possible. Skywalker thanked the lieutenant for their report, and ordered both troopers to rest.[3]
Personality and traits
As a clone of the Grand Army of the Republic, the commander was cloned from the genetic template of the human bounty hunter Jango Fett. As such, the clone was 1.83 meters (6 ft) in height,[1] weighed eighty kilograms,[2] and had tan skin.[1]
Skills and abilities
As an ARF trooper and commander, this clone was specialized in stealth and reconnaissance, and was one of the best scouts in their regiment. They were able to understand enemy capabilities and deduce when not to attack, and was able to, along with the lieutenant, crew a Nu-class shuttle.[3]
Equipment
The commander was equipped with green camouflaged Phase I ARF armor with yellow markings on their sun visor. The commander utilized a Nu-class attack shuttle during missions.[3] As a clone, they were implanted with a behavioral modification biochip at birth to ensure that they would not resist certain orders.[1]
Behind the scenes
The ARF Clone Commander first appeared, albeit unnamed, in the animated theatrical film Star Wars: The Clone Wars[3] which was released on August 15, 2008 in the United States[5] and was directed by Dave Filoni.[3] In the DVD and Disney+ subtitles, this character is mistakenly identified as Rex.
