UniFy was the Telos IV front for the Offworld Mining Corporation, which was led by the dark Jedi Xanatos. Xanatos used UniFy to control Telos and provide him with a sanctuary after his attempted destruction of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
The UniFy corporation controlled Katharsis, the gambling obsession of Telos. UniFy and Xanatos manipulated the government's treasurer, Vox Chun, into forcing Katharsis winners—who were determined prior to the event—to split their earnings with the corporation. This would serve as funding for UniFy's (and ultimately Offworld Corporation's) secret mining operations on the planet.
In an attempt to gain evidence of UniFy's dealings, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, with the help of smuggler Denetrus infiltrated the company's headquarters in Thani, the capital of Telos.
