- "Sometimes I like to add a little extra crunch to a dish, and there ain't no better way to do that than with a tuile—a thin, crispy cookie that can be either sweet or savory."
- ―Strono Tuggs
Tuiles were a type of thin and crispy cookie that could be either savory or sweet. One type of tuile was the Golden Lichen Tuile made by Artiodac Chef Strono Tuggs, who added tuiles into dishes in order to add extra crunch. At some point after the Battle of Takodana[1] in 34 ABY,[2] he included a recipe for the Golden Lichen Tuiles in his cookbook, The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, which also used the tuiles in a recipe for Nectrose Freeze.[1]
Behind the scenes
Tuiles first appeared in Star Wars canon in the 2019 cookbook Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, which was written by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Marc Sumerak.[1] In real life, tuiles are a type of French cookie originally made from almonds.[3]
