The Trans-Jardeen sector lay in the Expansion Region and contained the Jardeen system and the Pioku system.[1] The Jardeen system contained the planet Jardeen IV, the site of the Imperial Army training center[3] that was used by the Galactic Empire for teaching the tactics of utilizing walkers in combat.[4] The Pioku system shared its name with the conflict known as the Pioku Border Wars.[5]
By 0 ABY, the Trans-Jardeen sector bordered the Great Agash sector northward and the Extorin sector and the Cantons of Lahag westward. It also formed a four-way border with the Arc d'Stot, Chitarghar, and Vatha sectors eastward, as well as another four-way border with the Har Worlds, the Piryn Shar sector, and the Vatha sector southward.[2] Shortly after the Battle of Endor[3] in 4 ABY,[6] General Arndall Lott and Captain Iolan Gendarr of the Imperial Star Destroyer Reliance, both stationed on Jardeen IV, fled the planet before the arrival of New Republic forces.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Trans-Jardeen sector was introduced in the StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas.[1] In 2012, the sector was depicted on a map designed by Modi and published in the Online Companion feature "Essential Atlas Extra: Expansion Region," which placed it in grid squares J-15, K-15, and K-16.[2]
