- "It's my favorite place."
"Mine too." - ―Kor Plouth and Yana Ro
Torinda trees grew on the planet Dalna. The Path of the Open Hand members Yana Ro and Kor Plouth considered one such tree to be their favorite private place, using it to be together and sharing many moments there.
Description
Torinda trees were a type of tree with black bark and frilled teal leaves that could be found on the Outer Rim planet Dalna.[1]
History
The higher portion of a torinda tree on Dalna was the favorite hiding place of Yana Ro, one of the Children of the Path of the Open Hand Force religion, as she was well hidden there. When she was little, Ro used the tree to avoid doing chores, but once she had grown up, she valued it more as a place for private thinking, which was difficult to attain within the Path.[1]
When Ro met fellow Path member Kor Plouth, she discovered that the two shared the tree as their favorite private place, climbing it together. They came to see the tree as their spot, eventually kissing for the first time in it a year later.[2] In 382 BBY,[3] Ro watched the Jedi Padawan Kevmo Zink arrive and leave the Path's facilities; she was able to see all of the Path's lands thanks to the tree's height.[1]
Behind the scenes
A torinda tree first appeared in Path of Deceit, a young-adult novel written by Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland and published in 2022 as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase II.[1]
