Timon Medon was a Pau'an who was credited as the Unifier of Utapau. Medon united the disparate species and city-states of the planet Utapau peacefully through negotiations, drafting treaties, and the construction of a constitution. His descendant, Tion Medon, became Master of Port Administration of Pau City because of his ancestry.
Biography
Tion Medon (pictured) was the direct descendant of Timon Medon.
Timon Medon was a Pau'an, a species native to[1] the Outer Rim Territories planet[2] Utapau. In Medon's time,[1] Utapau had scattered cultures[3] and was populated with disparate city-states.[1] Medon worked to peacefully[4] unite the planet's city-states[1] and its two native species, the Pau'ans and the Utai.[4] He[1] worked through negotiation,[4] drafting treaties between the city-states and moulding a constitution of beneficial principles.[1] He came to be known as the Unifier of Utapau[5] and was revered for his role.[1] Timon Medon Plaza in Utapau's capital, Pau City, was named in honor of him.[5]
Medon's direct descendant, Tion Medon,[1] received the position of Master of Port Administration of Pau City because of his heritage to Timon.[6] Tion served in the position for over two hundred years[2] prior to the end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY.[7] He became the unofficial planetary leader when Utapau was occupied by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the war, and he carried on Timon's tradition of diplomatic compromise in that time.[3]
Personality and traits
Rather than resorting to violence, Timon Medon worked to peacefully unite Utapau[4] and was willing to make diplomatic compromises.[3]
Behind the scenes
Timon Medon was first mentioned in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith: The Visual Dictionary, a 2005 reference book written by James Luceno.[2] The thirty-seventh issue of the revised run of The Official Star Wars Fact File, published on September 17, 2014,[8] stated that Tion Medon had unified the cities of Utapau,[9] in contrast to previous sources that had established Timon's role in doing so, including the ninth issue of the Fact File[4] published on March 5 of the same year.[10]
