"I am General Threnoldt, commanding officer of the Imperial Reclamation Service. I understand you're familiar with us."
―Threnoldt introduces himself to Imperial heroes[4]

Threnoldt was a Human male who served as the commanding officer of the reconstituted Sith Empire's Imperial Reclamation Service, a military unit charged with discovering and recovering ancient artifacts for weaponization against the Empire's enemies. He held the rank of general during the Cold War and Galactic War. Threnoldt organized the Empire's response to the threat posed by the ancient Rakatan warlord Soa on Belsavis, a Republic prison planet. He later reported to the Dark Council, the Empire's ruling body, on the threat posed by emerging monstrosities from a Gree hypergate on the Gree Enclave world of Asation in the first years of the Galactic War.

Threnoldt was a general in the reconstituted Sith Empire's Imperial Reclamation Service.[4] He[3] personally offered the leader of one of the service's expeditions, Captain Barden Golah, a position at the service's headquarters at the conclusion of Golah's mission on the desert planet of Tatooine[5] in 3643 BBY.[6] Golah's team had deployed to Tatooine to uncover ancient devices previously obtained by Czerka Corporation.[7] Threnoldt was well acquainted with Darth Thanaton during the Sith Lord's brief reign on the Dark Council as head of the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge which oversaw the service.[4]

The danger posed to the Sith Empire by the ancient Rakatan warlord Soa (pictured) was so great that Threnoldt recruited a strike team to defeat the threat himself.

In approximately 3640 BBY,[8] the first year of the Galactic War, the Sith Empire launched an invasion on the Republic prison planet Belsavis. The Republic had constructed a prison there to house the galaxy's most dangerous criminals but built it over the ruins of an existing ancient Rakatan prison.[9] An Imperial bombing run on the planet revealed a new section of the ancient prison that had been sealed for over 20,000 years, which was known to its Rakatan builders as the Eternity Vault. Reclamation Service personnel translated Rakatan inscriptions and cross-referenced them with other such writings discovered throughout the galaxy that made reference to the vault's principal prisoner, an ancient Rakatan warlord known as the "Infernal One." Threnoldt personally recruited a team of Imperial heroes to travel to Belsavis to defeat the ancient threat. After the mission was successfully completed and the warlord was defeated, Threnoldt mobilized additional personnel to explore the vault.[4]

The following year,[10] the Sith Empire made its first contact with the Gree species who had reached out to the Imperials to assist them in suppressing a threat instigated by the Dread Host, the forces of the rebellious Dread Masters, on the Gree Enclave world of Asation. Threnoldt reported on the matter directly to the Dark Council.[3]

Personality and traits

Threnoldt was a diligent commanding officer who proactively recruited Imperial heroes to confront the threat of the Eternity Vault's prisoners. He recognized and admired the admirable service of others such as Imperial archaeologist Talos Drellik and expressed positive sentiments about working directly with the Dark Council. The general firmly believed the Sith Empire needed the Reclamation Service but was not hesitant to seek additional aid when needed. Prior to the Eternity Vault operation, he disbelieved the Sith had been governed by the Rakata on Korriban, the ancient homeworld of the Sith species, millennia prior. He was astute enough to recognize serious threats to the Empire when they arose but was not crippled by his fears. He was a Human[1] male[2] with fair skin, black hair, and brown eyes.[1]

Equipment

Threnoldt wore an Imperial military uniform which included a shoulder/upper chest guard and bandolier, and he employed the standard gray-and-brown color scheme commonly displayed by personnel assigned to the Reclamation Service.[1]

Behind the scenes

Threnoldt appeared in the 2011 BioWare-LucasArts video game Star Wars: The Old Republic. He was the primary quest giver for all Imperial player classes for the game's first operation, the Eternity Vault.[4]
