- "They came to Divo's attention when a shipment of sham Xrexus restraining bolts surfaced on Coruscant as part of a planned droid uprising ordered by the Glitch, a splinter of the infamous Droid Gotra syndicate."
- ―Exantor Divo, Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious
The Glitch was a splinter faction of the Droid Gotra, a criminal syndicate[1] formed from disaffected droids after the end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY.[2] The Glitch split with the Droid Gotra[1] in that same year[2] and then ordered a droid uprising on the planet Coruscant, the capital of the Galactic Empire.[1]
The Coruscant Security Force learned of the planned uprising and discovered a shipment of sham Xrexus Cartel restraining bolts that were to be used in the event. This led Inspector Tanivos Divo to open a case on the cartel, and Divo's grandson, Exantor Divo, mentioned the Glitch as part of an entry on this case in his book, Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious,[1] which was published in 34 ABY.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Glitch was mentioned in the 2018 reference book Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]

- ↑ 2.0 2.1 2.2 Most Wanted establishes that the Droid Gotra formed from diseffected droids after the end of the Clone Wars, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 19 BBY. Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious states that KRONOS-841 was a member of the Droid Gotra when captured in 7958 C.R.C., an event that took place after the Coruscant Security Force learned of the planned uprising ordered by the Glitch. As Scum and Villainy dates the carbon-freezing of Han Solo to 7980 C.R.C. and Star Wars: Timelines that event to 3 ABY, 7958 C.R.C. equates to 19 BBY, meaning that the Droid Gotra's formation, the formation of the Glitch, and KRONOS-841 joining the group must have all taken place in that year.
- ↑ The latest entries chronologically in Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious are dated to 8011 (C.R.C. date) and gives 7980 (C.R.C. date) as the year that the carbon-freezing of Han Solo, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 3 ABY. Therefore, 8011 C.R.C. must have been around 34 ABY. Scum and Villainy also mentions Hosnian Prime as still being capital of the New Republic, meaning the in-universe Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious must have been published prior to the destruction of the planet, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 34 ABY. As the publishing must have occurred between the time of the latest entries and the destruction of Hosnian Prime, it therefore also took place around 34 ABY.
