"Relic" — Classic Adventures: Volume Four — The Best of the Journal establishes that the Kashi Mer talisman was present during—and also survived—the destruction of the Kashi system, including Kashi, shortly after the formation of the Galactic Republic, which Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia dates to 25,053 BBY. The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, Vol. II, p. 201 ("Kashi Mer") further states that, by the time of the First Great Schism—dated to 24,500 BBY by The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, Vol. I, p. xi ("A Timeline of Galactic Events")—the star system's Kashi Mer culture had not yet gone extinct as a result of its destruction. Finally, "The Emperor's Pawns" — Star Wars Gamer 5 establishes that Arden Lyn had the talisman in her possession from the First Great Schism up until her revival from stasis, which The Essential Guide to Warfare dates to 4 BBY. Therefore, the Kashi system must have been destroyed at some point by 24,500 BBY.
