"The Emperor's Pawns" was an article appearing in Star Wars Gamer 5, written by Abel G. Peña and Pablo Hidalgo, under the name Juan Schwartz, and illustrated by Joe Corroney.

The article provided background information on the Emperor's Hands who served Emperor Palpatine, such as Sarcev Quest and Jeng Droga. It was Peña's first published Star Wars article.

Adventure seeds

A number of adventure seeds were included with the article that contained elements that have worked their way into Legends since the original release by Abel G. Peña:

  • Omnipotent Mastermind
  • The Lost Art
  • Sinister Alliance
  • Unfinished Business
  • Life After Death
  • In Too Deep
  • Droga's Destiny

Development

The name of the endnotes article on StarWars.com, "Blackhole and Revelations," is a play on the name of the 2006 album Black Holes And Revelations by the English rock band Muse.
