Tango Company was a unit of clone troopers in the Grand Army of the Republic. In the aftermath of the Second Battle of Geonosis, all of the troopers were infected with Geonosian brain worms, resulting in a skirmish aboard Republic medical frigate TB-73 with Jedi Commanders Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee.

Description

Tango Company was a clone trooper infantry company within the Grand Army of the Republic,[1] consisting of at least two platoons[2] led by Clone Lieutenant Trap. The company's emblem was a stylized tiger, with multiple troopers of the unit sporting light blue markings and additional symbols on their customized phase I clone trooper armor.[1]

Infected clone troopers of Tango Company

Following the Second Battle of Geonosis, Tango Company was assigned to escort TB-73—a Pelta-class Medical Frigate under the command of Jedi Commanders Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee— to the Ord Cestus medical station. However, clone trooper Scythe was infected with a Geonosian brain worm and secretly brought a batch of eggs aboard the starship in his backpack. Onboard the medical frigate, he caused the infection to spread to other clones, including Edge, Havoc, Ox, Pulsar, and Lieutenant Trap. The infected clones even killed their own brothers, executing the pilots as they took over the bridge. Burrowing within the brains of the infected soldiers, the worms controlled their hosts' actions and forced them to attack the Jedi.[1]

As the worm infestation spread to the rest of the ship's crew, infecting Offee in the process, Tano attempted to regain control of the vessel before its arrival at Ord Cestus. Ultimately, she prevented the infection from spreading to the medical station by deactivating the frigate's climate control, thereby causing the worms to lose control of their hosts as they froze to death.[1] Later in the war, green Aurebesh graffiti next to the exit of the latrine in the 79's cantina on Coruscant said "TANGO CO".[3]
