Epicanthix

I think that, even though it is mentioned that it was in the Dark Forces Saga that he's retconned into an Epicanthix , a BTS section mentioning/describing this (ridiculous) retcon would be useful. KEJ 10:10, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Why? The Sources mentions the first identification, and whether it is ridiculous or not is entirely irrelevant. QuentinGeorge 10:12, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
    • I know it's irrelevant which is why I parenthesized it; that was just my own personal opinion. And it's fine that the sources mentions first identification, but I think that a BTS describing the retcon in words would be more informative and more useful. Something like "blah blah blah Yun was originally intended to be a human but was identified as an Epicanthix in the Dark Force Saga blah blah blah. Come to think of it... wasn't Yun specified as a human in the Dark Forces novellas? I can't remember. I'll have to just take a look at them again KEJ 10:33, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
      • Jerec is a better example, since he was explictly labelled human in the NEGTC. QuentinGeorge 10:35, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
        • True, but I'm not looking for examples of bad retconning (let's face it, there are a lot of bad retconning maneuvres in the SW-world - especially The Dark Forces Saga is full of points that are in conflict with the Dark Forces Novellas). I was merely arguing for a prose description of the identification of Yun as an Epicanthix. Of course, if it turns out that the retcon of Yun into an Epicanthix is as much a 'blooper' as the Jerec case, then it should surely be mentioned in the BTS-section, but I'll have to just have a look at the novellas later to see if that's the case. Lightsaber Color?

There appears to be an edit war going on over whether his lightsaber is green or yellow. Does anyone have any evidence (i.e. screenshots) that can prove which color it is? Darth Anakin 15:02, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

  • The lightsaber was most certainly yellow. Toprawa and Ralltiir 15:20, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
    • I expect it's becuase of the picture with Katarn's lightsaber in that it started in the first place. - Kingpin13Cantina Battle Ground 15:22, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Battle of Fort Nowhere

Jedi infobox?

What's the rationale behind giving him a Jedi infobox? I understand that he was redeemed, but he was never a member of the Jedi Order, as far as I can tell. Nor was he ever actually referred to as a Jedi. He was still affiliated with the Dark Jedi upon his death, so I think the infobox should be changed to reflect that. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 23:47, April 19, 2011 (UTC)

  • I don't think we actually have any set guideline regarding the usage of the Jedi infobox (or any other infobox, for that matter). He was a Dark Jedi who was redeemed, hence he was a Redeemed Jedi. It still somewhat fits under the Jedi label. QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 19:09, April 21, 2011 (UTC)
    • More so than the Dark Jedi or simple Character infobox, you think? I don't really have a strong opinion on this, I'm just wondering if there's not more of a reason to choose either of the other two. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 23:09, April 28, 2011 (UTC)
      • In this instance I would go with a more general character infobox, maybe Imperial or otherwise. See Zilaash Kuh: no Jedi, light or dark, but a lightsaber-swinging bounty hunter instead.—Tommy 9281 Thursday, April 28, 2011, 23:28 UTC
        • I concur. Whether or not it is currently adhered to, I feel like we should reserve Jedi infoboxes for people who were actually members of the Jedi Order, not just lightsiders. Daughter would be a good example. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 06:47, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
          • Very well, you've convinced me. I've changed it to a general Character infobox, though I think we should create some kind of a Force-sensitive character infobox for these kinds of situations. QuiGonJinn Senate seal(Talk) 12:24, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
            • That's actually a good idea. Go for it; if you need help, let me know.—Tommy 9281 Saturday, April 30, 2011, 14:53 UTC
  • I agree that we need a new infobox. We have the grey Dark Jedi for non-Sith dark-siders, so maybe a light green one for non-Jedi light-siders? Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 18:14, May 2, 2011 (UTC)

Type

I just fixed the infobox, adding the missing parameters. One of which was type, which I decided to make as Dark Jedi. This is the same as Sariss and the others and, even though he redeemed himself, Yun was still a dark jedi. Even in the Legacy section, the article states "Katarn, having lost his lightsaber, took up the fallen Dark Jedi's lightsaber...", the dark jedi being Yun. If you have issue with this, feel free to change the type, but do not simply revert the edit. Manoof (talk) 05:57, July 27, 2015 (UTC)
