COLOUR

I'm not sure where you got the idea that the blade was blue in SWTOR:Revan, but the novel clearly states that it's green when Revan fights the Mandalorians on Rekkiad. The saber was canonically blue during the events of KOTOR.

  • KOTOR - Cyan
  • SWTOR:Revan - Viridian
  • SWTOR - Violet

Since when does Revan change his canon Lightsaber colour from Blue to Cyan during Kotor?

And he changes it to Green, not Viridian. When becoming a master. (Cryorex 15:39, June 19, 2012 (UTC))

  • Does that mean he was a retrained as a Jedi Guardian? Or is that for the Revan talk page?--Darth R2-D2, Dark Lord of the Droids (talk) 16:14, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
    • It's violet in the events of KotOR, and blue, as well. There hasn't been any sources that came outright and said he was a Guardian, so there can be no speculation on the matter. All we know is that as a Jedi, he used violet and blue before his fall, then after his memory wipe he used blue, violet, and green, and then back to violet again.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 18:53, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

Source for Blue Lightsaber

The source given for Revan's lightsaber as originally blue is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and yet having played that game many times, I don't recall when exactly was it ever explicitly stated in that game that his lightsaber was blue, especially given that it was customizable. Blue lightsaber?

The apparent source for Revan's lightsaber being blue is KotOR itself, but it isn't ever mentioned in the game itself what color his lightsaber is. We know he uses a purple and blue lightsaber before his fall, as that's how it appears in the KotOR comics and the Revan novel, and thus it's mentioned as that on his Sith lightsaber page. But we're given no information during the game itself as to what he uses. He clearly uses a green lightsaber during the novel, and a violet lightsaber during TOR, but I'm not sure that's even enough information to claim it's green during the game. Not only that, it states that it's blue during his retraining, which would be during KotOR, but then in the same sentence mentions his fall, which is pre-KotOR. Which is it? I'm going to remove all references to it being blue before the novel, and just keep the mentions of it being green during the novel and purple during TOR. EDIT: Hmm, the galactic timeline videos actually seem to be the true source of Revan having a blue lightsaber, at least when confronting Malak, but it also shows Bastila fighting Malak with Revan, which isn't possible in the game. Nevertheless, I'll give that as the true source. Wertwert55 (talk) 07:03, October 12, 2018 (UTC)

Design

The design of the lightsaber used in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is his Sith lightsaber and his Sith lightsaber is his Jedi version how do we explain it? Red Duel (talk) 15:42, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

  • Could you please explain what you mean? I'm not sure what you're trying to say. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 13:48, 27 May 2021 (UTC)

Mixed up

Hum, seems like I forgot to deal with this back in 2022. I updated both this article and Revan's Sith lightsaber to inform the BTS of the history of the saber and the little switcharoo made on Galaxy of Heroes. However, both articles are a mess at the moment, with lot of missing sources/references, and what seems to be a lot of assumptions. For example, this article started with a narrative that would have all sabers of Revan be the same, up to the one he used in SWTOR. However, as far as I can tell, he had at least 3 to 4 different sabers. Currently the article still assume that the Revan novel saber (green blade) is the same that the one in SWTOR (purple blade), which seems an inaccuracy to me, but to be honest, I haven't checked all avenue of research to be able to claim with 100% they are different (except for the fact that they look nothing alike).

A quick recap:

  • His original saber (blue blade) was with him from the Mandalorian Wars to the Jedi Civil War, at which point the blade was red, and he was only wielding one (see this cinematic, and the saber was destroyed (?) when Bastilla took him down before erasing his memories. This saber was identical to all hilt in KOTOR (per the CSWE depiction). It's that saber that is sold in the Cartel Market as "Fallen Revan's Lightsabe" and that we cover under the article Revan's Sith lightsaber.
    • As far as I'm aware, he don't have any certainty of what Revan was using during KOTOR, so not much to go on about here...
    • It was KOTOR II who added the iconic dual-wielding depiction of Revan from the vision experienced by the Exile on Korriban (see this video) BUT no depiction of him prior to that point (IU-chronology) see him dual-wielding during the Mando Wars/JCW...
  • The novel give us another (?) saber, this time with a green blade. It can be seen on both the old and new covers. I'm not 100% sure this is a different saber than the one seen in SWTOR, hence why I did not removed any of that from this article. There is similarities in the design to the one from SWTOR, but also elements that put it appart from it, so... kinda stuck there.
  • The SWTOR saber, purple blade, "Redeemed Revan's Lightsaber" per the Cartel Market, used by Revan (single wielding) in the Foundry flashpoint. Given that we are sure that this one is unique, its depiction is currently the center of the Revan's lightsaber article. He also use it in the Shadow of Revan expansion, along with...
  • Another red-blade saber, that Revan double-wield with the purple one in SWTOR. This one is 100% different from the other red-blade, as it can be seen in this video.

I'm noting all this here, because I don't think I will have the time before long to start seriously looking into this topic, as it seems there is a lot to dig regarding the OOU history of those designs. So if anyone want to, at least they will have something to start with. As an additional note, merchandising is all over the place too: Hasbro saber call the purple blade "Darth Revan [...] Lighsaber", the upcoming Sixth SCale Hot Toys Darth Revan has him dual wielding the KOTOR saber and the SWTOR saber, same with Gentle Giant Darth Revan Gallery Statue. The old Gentle Giant mini bust from 2011 had him with dual wielding two KOTOR saber, with interchangeable blade (red, purple, blue and orange), the 2017 Gentle Giant 1:8 scale statue also has the regular KOTOR red/SWTOR purple combo, same with the Hasbro Vintage Collection. The "Jedi Knight Revan" from Hasbro Vintage Collection, is directly inspired by the depiction of the light-side character in Galaxy of Heroes WITH THE CORRECT SABER (SWGOH has Darth Revan wielding the purple SWTOR saber, and Jedi Knight Revan wield KOTOR saber with a blue blade...).
