Maw's death
I've added some info on Maw's death. The source's Dietz' novella Dark Forces: Jedi Knight.KEJ 17:32, 19 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Move to Maw the Boltrunian?
- As was recently pointed out when the redirect was created, his name is listed in Star Wars Insider 84 as "Maw the Boltrunian." I'm wondering if perhaps we should move this whole article there, as that seems to be how he is formally referred to; it would also give the added advantage of getting rid of the parenthetical qualifier in the title. jSarek 00:45, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I don't know. I think more people just know him as Maw. An alternative could be to call the article about The Maw Cluster 'The Maw Cluster' in stead of just 'The Maw' and then call this article 'Maw'.KEJ 10:47, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)
- I'd move it, since SWI84 seems to indicate that "Maw the Boltrunian" is his full name.
- Gee, I guess his parents didn't like him :-) KEJ 10:55, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)
Ears
- Maw doesn't have pointy ears like another Boltrunian Warto. I guess he could have lost most of his external ears in a dual or due to some other injury.--Darth Oblivion 13:49, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- Or maybe their two different subspecies of Boltrunians. KEJ 19:58, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
Force flight
I actually didn't know about it until I read it in the Dark Forces Saga article on him, but it's apparently canon.

| Though he initially relied on a repulsorlift carriage to get around, Maw ultimately opted for the crutch of the dark side. With the same diligence and intensity with which he sculpted his massive body, Maw practiced Force flight until hovering became as second nature as walking. | |

Does this contradict information in the novella? I don't own it. -BaronGrackle 23:16, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- Haven't we been discussing "force flight" in another talk page?--Darth OblivionComlink

New Image.
[[File:Maw2.jpg|thumb]]
I'm hnot sure where it's from but I know iv'e seen it someware besides JMAS's website. in my openion this one is a bit clearer and looks better in the infobox
- It's one of the promotional art pieces, seen in game installation. As of now, we only have Gorc's art as his main image, and I don't even like that one very much. -BaronGrackle 02:19, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think we should stick to live-action images or in-situ illustrations rather than promotional images... but of course there's nothing preventing the above image from appearin gin the BTS section. KEJ 08:30, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- Though, while we're on article images, can anyone find a good picture of Maw's full body, before his "accident" with Rahn? I can't find a decent picture of him online, and I don't know how to take usable screenshots from my own game. -BaronGrackle 13:41, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Every quart of muscle
Are we certain that it is every QUART of muscle? Personally I thought that a quart was an amount of milk, or more acurately 946.35295 milliliters.
I was absolutely 100% sure that every time I heard that description I heard 'Every cord of muscle'. Unless we have from a completely canon source that his muscles are composed of milk instead of cords should we not go for the logical option?
- Official strategy guide says cord, so I changed it.141.154.217.65 22:00, 17 July 2007 (UTC) (Bredd13)
Jedi???
houldn't this be moved to Maw (Dark Jedi} or Maw (Fallen Jedi) etc. etc. after all when he died he was still a dark Jedi - Kingpin13Cantina Battle Ground 17:36, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'd be fine with Maw (Dark Jedi), but he WAS also a Jedi at some point, and a Dark Jedi is a type of Jedi, so I feel either works. -BaronGrackle 18:29, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- I vote for Maw (Dark Jedi). He was killed while a Dark Jedi, so shouldn't we label him as such? Ruthless Xero 08:24, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Maw's Insider 31 background is 1 sentence long & not completely irreconcilable with Pena's Dark Forces article
I'm looking at Insider 31 now. This is all it has on Maw: "Maw is a tortured soul who grew up in the streets, started a speeder bike gang, and then became a Dark Jedi."
That's it. That's all there is on him in that article, from Justin Chin of the dev team of Dark Force 2 that created Maw. Pena admittedly missed this when writing his article, but it can still fit--the wording implies but does not definitively state that starting a speeder bike gang happened immediately after growing up on the streets.
Maw could've been on the streets as a toddler, then was found by the Jedi and became a Jedi not unlike Anakin (we've seen far worse examples in Legends with Rahm Kota supposedly starting training at 18!) After Order 66, Maw could've formed a speeder bike gang while hiding from the Empire, then Jerec caught him and turned him to the dark side.
Does it venture into speculation? I'd say not really as it's entirely based on Legends canonical info from the official Star Wars magazine Star Wars Insider. At best the article should be incorporated that Maw grew up on the streets for an unknown time before being found by the Jedi Order, and that at some point in his life he formed a speeder bike gang. Honestly I think if someone took this to Abel Pena on twitter he'd probably be fine with cleaning this wookieepedia article this way, as I doubt the current Story Group would bother with answering questions on obscure Legends characters now.
