Highly Likely?

"It is highly likely to have been influenced by the real world Cold War between the West, and the Soviet Union and their allies. This conflict never reached open war, but was instead a political arms race, with the goal of having greater global influence." Isn't it pretty much clear that it was influenced? We don't have to say "highly likely".—Darthtyler (Talk) 21:30, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

  • But we aren't completely sure so we cant just wright that we are... Venators 00:03, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
  • I looked at this page and the Post WWII Cold War was my first thought. The movies were based on events of history, so why not this little part?--Allurade Dendra 22:47, October 10, 2009 (UTC)

Big problem, there is no known end-date

There is no source that says when the cold war ended, and we are never going to see how the republic wins, because it is a persistent MMO, and therefor never ends. Do you really think that Republic class campaigns will include the annihilation of the other side? At most, we can get insight as to why or how the Empire loses. So not only do we not know, we will probably never know. It is probable, though only a guess, that the war won't completely heat up within the entire course of any class storyline, or at the least near the end-game. But we don't know, and the source provided does NOT say that the republic wins at this time, let alone the cold war ending, it just says that it is when the game starts. And I think they changed that date to ten years after the treaty. (- -) 01:12, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

Why did George Lucas add this part to the Star Wars universe? The timeline is getting more muddled up, but once the final Timeline videos come out, we can get some pictures and info on the foundation of the Jedi, the Republic, and their early years! --Larry Young 04:32, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Mandalorians

Fatal Alliance has, on multiple occasions, said that the Mandalorians are neutral in the Cold War. Alexsau1991 (talk page) SithEmblem-Traced-TORkit 18:03, September 28, 2010 (UTC)

End Date

The new Comic Con trailer page on the TOR site states that the peace is broken at the time the game starts. I think that can be used as a valid reference for the end of the Cold War. DD97Which bear is best? 20:21, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

End Date

as a player of SW:TOR I know when the cold war ends. each class has a quest line that takes place over a 2 year period (from 10 ATC to 12 ATC) these quests are divided up into 3 acts. Act 2 ends with the cold war turning hot. (basicly the war breaks out dureing the course of the game) as such we won't know the end date until someone can ask bioware but it's "sometime between ATC 10-12" I'd GUESS in ATC 12. --24.69.98.129 09:29, January 12, 2012 (UTC)BrianDavion

  • The SW:TOR game begins at 3643 BBY or ATC 10 (which is still in the cold war), and (currently) ends at 3641 BBY or ATC 12, which is when the cold war ends and the Galactic War begins. (Mattto123 08:51, May 15, 2012 (UTC))

Name of the article?

Hello Wookieepedians, where did you found the name Cold War? We in the german Jedipedia have no scource for this so i decided to ask you. GAR 09:41, February 2, 2012 (UTC)

Fatal Alliance was the first source to categorically state that this conflict was known as the Cold War, since the game it's self has said it numerous times. Alexsau1991 (talk page) SithEmblem-Traced-TORkit 20:41, February 19, 2012 (UTC)

Characters (commanders) that die depending on choice in game

In their war-articles infoboxes, the Dragon age wikia has a "(†)" to the characters that die depending on choice, and a standard "†" do the characters whose deaths are inevitable. I wonder if we should at the moment implementit, when we don't have established canon on the choices? Overlord Divine 08:21, February 5, 2012 (UTC)

I agree--Gboy4 21:18, February 26, 2012 (UTC)

Continuation

Could someone please pick up where I left off and do the smuggler trooper storylines? I haven't done them because I have not played those classes yet. Also the imperial classes please. (Mattto123 08:40, May 15, 2012 (UTC))

10 or 12 years

How long does the war last exactly? Different sources say 10 to 12 years.--Mike Gilbert 14:16, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

  • The War begins in 3,653 BBY after the Sacking or Coruscant and the end of the Great Galactic War, and ends in 3641 BBY with the beginning of the Galactic War. Mattto123 06:35, June 4, 2012 (UTC)

New heros emerge

Should they really be seperate articles? Then again there's not much info is there?--Mike Gilbert 00:02, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

  • No idea. It's not completed yet, though, so feel free to edit it in any way you like.58.109.87.234 00:33, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

White Maw

As far as I can tell the White Maw is the same Pirate Confederation mentioned on the website.--Mike Gilbert 22:43, June 22, 2012 (UTC)

dagger purpose

The infobox has daggers next to several characters' names without explanation. A possible explanation was provided in 2012 on this talk page. If this is what the daggers mean, this information should be in the infobox or article. Asithol (talk) 21:56, July 23, 2016 (UTC)

Title

Would it make sense to rename this to "Cold War (Legends)" or something like that, making room for Cold War?

  • The canon cold war hasn't been named as Cold War, as fair I know. It has been named only as cold war or Cold war--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 08:01, January 4, 2020 (UTC)
  • Since the canon Cold War has now been dubbed such, I'm going ahead with the move. SilverSunbird (talk) 03:44, September 29, 2020 (UTC)
