juhani was a catha the same as the others her fur was the same most people thougth it was tattos and her ability to change pigmentation is a force ability
- Okay, anonymous user: source it. Cutch 00:13, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
the anonymouse user will when someone tells him were the source of natural fur color changing is and the source that tells there are 2 different subspecies and the source that says juhani couldnt have just gotten a hair cut
- Wow... register and learn to type, and maybe I'll respect your opinion. By the way... do you own the Ultimate Alien Anthology? If so, look it up. Cutch 00:57, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes I do and it says nothing about cathar being able to change skin color. I cannot recall what source said juhani's ability was a force ability but i remember it was a cannon source. I also would like to point out that the prima "official guides" have lead to many errors. The guides may tell how to play the game but the information cannot all be considered cannon. For example yathura ban is green in teh prima official guide. in game she is purple and haz tatoos. The information is on how to beat the game not trying to expand upon the universe. - Well, until you source it, we can't really change anything. Cutch 02:43, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
[[File:Evil_Cat.gif]] I can't believe the Mandalorians beat the Cathar.--Malak 19:03, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- yes, but remember how strong the mando's really are, and do we need that pointless gif there Jedi Dude 19:12, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Um.... THIS IS A JOKE!--Malak 21:01, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- So, Jedi Dude, you're saying that we SHOULDN'T add this image to the Repeating blaster article? :-)
- Caption reads: Though Cathars were not known to make use of any type of repeater, this scientific illustration is our best hypothesis of how wicked awesome it would look. -BaronGrackle 19:41, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- i can't see a caption =[ hence why it wasn't funny =] Jedi Dude 21:08, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- I thought it was HILARIOUS! A welcome break from all the columns of typeface I've been scrolling through. It also reminds me of the point raised by Larry Niven's 'Man/Kzin War' fans: How could mere humans defeat a species whose battle tactics were best defined as 'Scream and leap'. Not that I'm saying that Cathar are just like Kzin, but the underestimation by a race of predator-types when looking at their non-predator opponents could have been similar, leading to a similar downfall.Tocneppil 21:53, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Pics
Hope everyone's okay with the new pic choice: one male and one female from each suspecies are depicted on the page now. Cutch 06:28, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
==Is it worth noting the racist slur the name Cathar seems to be derived from? HavetStorm 19:38, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Can we find a better pic to intro people better to the article? The big, dumb looking brute is a poor rep of Cathar I think. --Jaguartalon 07:10, November 15, 2011 (UTC)
Did it myself --Jaguartalon 23:22, November 19, 2011 (UTC)
Catharism?
Should it be noted in the BTS section that the word Cathar in the real world is used to describe a person of a Christian religious sect called Catharism? Cyfiero 21:46, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
Subspecies
I think PH had a typo. I do not think "Juhani" and "Myr Rho" are meant to be the names of the subespecies. Rather, I think the two subspecies are the common one (ie Sylvar) and the rare one (ie, Juhani and Myr Rho)
Friendship
- "We Cathar do not make friends easily, or for long. Even on Dantooine, I remained alone. Not ostracized exactly, but... separate."
- ―Juhani
- "The Cathar are a proud, passionate, and loyal species of bipedal feline humanoids, well known for their long-standing friendships and ferocity in battle."
- ―The KotORCG on the Cathar species
There seem to be conflicting canon sources for this matter. Does the KotOR Campaign Guide take precedence over the games?--Jinger 00:37, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Mando vs Cathar
"...we Mandalorians wiped out at least one sentient species just to prove that we would--the Cathar." Wad'e Tay'haai, from the Imperial Commando book.
The Cathar page makes no mention of this. I was hoping for more information. 128.198.31.17 03:09, February 3, 2011 (UTC)
ANH appearance?
When did a Cathar have a possible appearance in A New Hope? Can I have a picture?--75.74.62.224 01:39, July 6, 2011 (UTC)
I was wondering about this too??--98.155.34.112 06:33, October 18, 2011 (UTC)
- It seems to have been referring to Myhr Rho. That guy was definitely not in the ANH Cantina Scene, though, so I've removed it. Menkooroo 07:21, October 18, 2011 (UTC)
Names?
I'm a bit new to the Cathar species, and I'm sort of writing a book/fan-fic and I'm wondering what names would be usual for the species. Y'know, like 'Fett' is a Mando name, and 'Djo' is a Hapan name, that sort of thing. —Unsigned comment by 71.207.146.7 (talk • contribs)
Parentheses
This has also been posted to the talk pages of Cathar, Cathar, and Cathar (planet).
As a reminder, the naming policy ranks planets and other astronomical objects above species if they share a name, except in cases where the species is clearly more important than the planet (e.g. the Falleen). I believe that, in both canon and Legends, the same is also true for the Cathar. Therefore, I propose that the species' articles be moved to take the non-parenthetical title. Any thoughts?
