"What did they say?"
"Seems an umbramoth colony hatched last night and wreaked havoc on a local settlement."
―Vernestra Rwoh and Mog Adana, discussing information they learned from Taibik and Wiltoo Kajok[3]

Taibik Kajok was a Huwawan male from the planet Khofar who was born around 184 BBY. When they were younger, Taibik and his younger brother Wiltoo Kajok worked as guides leading tourists through Khofar's forests. When they became older, the two brothers instead remained at their tent near the basic spaceport they maintained, where they bartered and sold safety tips, map programs, and survival gear. In 132 BBY, Taibik used a fuel pump while a Jedi task force visited the spaceport. The next morning, Taibik and Wiltoo played a game of dejarik together. Later that day, they spoke with another Jedi team who had come to investigate the deaths of the first team, informing them that an umbramoth colony had hatched the previous night.

Biography

Taibik Kajok was a Huwawan male from the Outer Rim planet Khofar who was born[1] around 184 BBY.[2] He was the older brother of Wiltoo Kajok, who was born[1] around 181 BBY.[2] The brothers maintained a spaceport that consisted only of the most basic amenities for travelers, where they bartered and sold safety tips, map programs, and survival gear. When they were younger, the brothers worked as guides who led tourists along the few trails in Khofar's forests. During Taibik's final time accompanying an expedition, his face was scratched by an umbramoth. When Taibik and Wiltoo became older, they instead stayed at a dockside tent and wished explorers luck.[1]

In 132 BBY,[4] a Jedi task force arrived on Khofar to extract Jedi Master Kelnacca from his post there and landed at the brothers' spaceport. While Padawan Jecki Lon questioned Wiltoo using a translatacomp, Taibik removed a blue tube from[5] a dilapidated[1] fuel pump and connected it to another device.[5] When Wiltoo rose indignantly,[6] Taibik briefly stepped away from the pump and gestured toward another individual crouched near it, then returned the tube to the fuel pump. The Jedi then headed into the forest to search for Kelnacca,[5] where most of them were killed by the Sith known as the Stranger.[1]

The next morning, Taibik and Wiltoo played[3] a low-tech, high-stakes version of the game dejarik on a rustic board[1] and ignored[7] the surviving members of the Jedi team walking past them.[8] Although the brothers pooled their money, their wagering grew heated,[1] and Wiltoo knocked several pieces off the board.[8] Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh later arrived at the spaceport with another team to investigate the Jedi's deaths. Taibik and Wiltoo spoke to the team[3] in an obscure variant of Huwawi[1] and informed them that an Umbramoth colony had hatched the previous night. As[3] Padawan[9] Mog Adana reported what they had learned to Rwoh, suggesting it could have been the cause of the deaths, the brothers continued speaking with another Jedi. The team then left to investigate the location where the Jedi had died.[3]

Personality and traits

Taibik Kajok had tan skin, brown hair, and dark eyes, and his face bore a scratch from an umbramoth. He stood 1.78 meters (5 feet, 10 inches) tall.[1] By 132 BBY,[4] when he was fifty-two standard years old, he had creaking bones and a sore back, and had had his fill of thrill-seekers who wandered off-trail. As a result, Taibik chose to stay by his dockside tent with his brother. He was less ambitious then Wiltoo, who envisioned turning their land into more than a barren field. Taibik and Wiltoo filled their time by playing dejarik, and although they pooled their money, their betting grew heated. He prided himself on having the sharpest business acumen.[1]

Skills and abilities

Kajok spoke an obscure variant of Huwawi that was difficult for Jedi translatacomps to analyze.[1]

Equipment

Kajok wore black boots, black pants, and a brown shirt, over which he wore rough fiber made from the stems of the Khofari iotii plant. He also wore a belt to which he strapped a woven hat made from raffu plant leaves and self-launching emergency flare canisters on his chest, and another piece of equipment with silver cylinders on his right arm.[1]

Behind the scenes

Taibik Kajok first appeared, albeit unidentified, in "Day,"[4] the fourth episode of the live-action Disney+ television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired on June 18, 2024.[10] He was identified in Pablo Hidalgo's 2025 reference book, Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide.[1] Concept art of Taibik was created by Ivan Manzella.[11] The scenes at the landing site[12] including Kajok[4] were shot at the Portuguese island Madeira.[12]
