"Target like that…sounds like a job for Luke Skywalker. What'd you say before the Death Star run? Just like knocking down Loth-cats in a T-13?"
"Close enough. I'm on it, Wedge."
―Wedge Antilles and Luke Skywalker[2]

T-13 Airspeeders were airspeeders that were phased out of service after the T-16 skyhopper became popular amongst many individuals. The T-13 was used commonly for police and militia forces in the Mid Rim and Outer Rim Territories, and was popularly used by smugglers, criminals and the Rebel Alliance.[1]

Whilst battling the Galactic Empire on the planet Ab Dalis, rebel Wedge Antilles asked Luke Skywalker what he had said before the Battle of Yavin,[2] when Skywalker had to fly down a trench on the Death Star and fire into a two meter target to destroy the space station,[3] after a similar situation presented itself as being required on Ab Dalis. Antilles then added what he thought Skywalker had said, that it would just be like knocking down Loth-cats on a T-13. Skywalker replied that it was close enough and that he would carry out the task.[2]

Behind the scenes

In the new Star Wars canon, T-13 Airspeeders were first mentioned in Unlimited Power, a roleplaying supplementary sourcebook for the Force and Destiny Star Wars Roleplaying module that was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2018.[1] T-13 Airspeeders originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the 1987 sourcebook The Star Wars Sourcebook.[4]
