A synthtone was a type of musical instrument. In the cockpit of her A/SF-01 B-wing starfighter, the Theelin pilot Chass na Chadic sometimes listened to a song about agony and revolution played on bass vye and synthtone with singing by a Herglic.[1]
Behind the scenes
A synthtone first appeared in the new Star Wars canon in 2019 novel Alphabet Squadron, which was written by Alexander Freed.[1] The instrument originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the 1989 Galaxy Guide 2: Yavin and Bespin, a supplement for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game written by Jonatha Caspian.[2]
