Star Wars Insider 49 is the forty-ninth issue of Star Wars Insider magazine. It was released to newsstands the week of May 15, 2000. This issue celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the original trilogy film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. As such, the design for issue 49 took its inspiration from the 1980 publication Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back - Official Collectors Edition.
