Star Wars: C-3PO Translates! is a themed voice "Alexa Skill" game extension available for Amazon Alexa, developed and licensed by The Walt Disney Company, and published by Amazon for the Amazon Echo and similar devices. Announced and released on February 3, 2021, this official voice skill can be freely enabled on any device utilizing Alexa, with the base experience allowing users to interact with C-3PO and another new protocol droid named SD-89, who teach various phrases in both Droidspeak and Shyriiwook with the help of R2-D2 and Chewbacca respectively.[1]
Users can choose which language they want to practice, and then answer prompts posed by C-3PO and SD-89 to progress through to new lessons.[4] Additionally, users with an "Amazon Kids+" subscription can access further lessons in the aforementioned two languages, as well as bonus courses teaching Ewokese and Huttese, practicing via conversations with characters such as BB-8, Wicket Wystri Warrick, Bib Fortuna, and Gardulla the Hutt.[1]
