Squigs were a vicious^[2] eel species from the planet Chandrila. The creatures were a planetary specialty that were served in the beverage Chandrilan Squigs^[1] where the pale-colored eels were added to the drink, creating a fizz.^[3]

By 5 BBY Senator Mon Mothma had lost her taste for squigs and ordered her drink without one during a party at the Chandrilan Embassy. Her husband Perrin Fertha enjoyed them and had her eel added to his drink, commenting that she used to enjoy them. Mothma responded that she had been better at pretending.^[3]
