Soona Taj was a Force-sensitive girl who lived during the Republic Era. Raised by their parents on Kiranno, Taj was found by the recently knighted Jedi Seera Longa and Berem Khana, who tested their Force-sensitivity and convinced them to come with them to be trained at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. The girl was uncertain about leaving their parents, but their father told them that—although he was sad about loosing them—it would be alright. During their voyage, the two Jedi Knights received a distress call of a starship floating in space. The Jedi landed their shuttle inside the ship's hangar and told Taj to wait while they investigated, but shortly afterwards, they heard sounds of fighting and saw that the Jedi were ambushed by pirates. The pirate group managed to overwhelm and kill Longa and Khana and subdued Taj. The girl awakened after Jedi reinforcements had arrived and attacked the pirates. Taj was freed by Jedi Knight Kelleran Beq and, to all's astonishment, fought the pirates with the Force and Seera Longa's lightsaber. After the Jedi defeated the pirates, they took Taj to the Jedi Temple, where they were trained as a Initiate. At some after Grand Master Yoda and Beq gave Taj a lightsaber fashioned form the ones of Longa and Khana, which they could use when they were older. At some point much later, Soona Taj reminisced about that part of their life.[1]
