Snopell was a Human male officer who served Galactic Empire during the Galactic Empire. Sometime following the Battle of Yavin, Warrant Officer Snopell was assigned to an Imperial space station in the Outer Rim Territories, along with Lieutenant Alin, Captain Clough, Lieutenant Farin, Captain Bailie, Colonel Sheray and Major Taison.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] an Imperial-class Star Destroyer captured a passenger freighter on suspicion of harboring criminals.[3] Several spacers were apprehended and taken to the Imperial Space station. After the spacers were released, Snopell processed them through the space station until they left the station.[1]
Behind the scenes
Snopell was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4]
Warrant Officer Snopell was added to the game when the developers revamped the "New Player Tutorial" with the release of the "Publish 17," on May 26, 2005.[5] Throughout the tutorial, Snopell and other Imperial officers directed new players through a space station in order to help them get accustomed to the game mechanics.[1] However, Snopell was removed alongside with this tutorial when the developers introduced the "New Game Enhancements" on November 15, 2005.[5] With this revamp, a completely new tutorial was added to the game in the form of Tansarii Point Station. Another Imperial officer with a similar name, Sergeant Snopel, was present in the Tansarii Point tutorial.[6]

Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees — Publish 17: "New Player Tutorial"
- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
