- "You've recently come to the attention of the Empire as a person of interest. I'm sure the Emperor will want to be notified that we've found you."
- ―Captain Clough, to a spacer
Clough was a Human male officer who served Galactic Empire during the Galactic Empire. Sometime following the Battle of Yavin, Captain Clough was assigned to an Imperial space station in the Outer Rim Territories, along with Lieutenant Alin, Warrant Officer Snopell, Lieutenant Farin, Captain Bailie, Colonel Sheray and Major Taison.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] an Imperial-class Star Destroyer captured a passenger freighter on suspicion of harboring criminals.[3] Several spacers were apprehended and taken to the Imperial Space station. After the spacers were released, Captain Clough processed them through the space station until they left the station.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "When you wish to talk to a Non-Player Character (NPC), place your cursor over them and click the right mouse button. This brings up a round interface called a Radial Menu. From the Radial Menu, select what you wish to say or do to the NPC. When you are done speaking with the NPC, select the Stop Conversing option. This removes the Radial Menu and returns you to the game. If you wish to speak to other players, you use the Chat Bar. This is the line below the chat window at the bottom of your screen. To type there, press ENTER and then begin to type. When you have typed what you want to say, press ENTER again and your message will appear above your head and can be seen by anyone in the area around you. When you have tried this, click on OK and then move to Captain Clough to speak with him."
- ―Tutorial message instructing players to speak with Captain Clough
Clough was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4]
Captain Clough was added to the game when the developers revamped the "New Player Tutorial" with the release of the "Publish 17," on May 26, 2005.[5] Throughout the tutorial, Clough and other Imperial officers directed new players through a space station in order to help them get accustomed to the game mechanics.[1] However, Clough was removed alongside with this tutorial when the developers introduced a completely new tutorial with the release of the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.[5]

Star Wars Galaxies: Rage of the Wookiees — Publish 17: "New Player Tutorial"
- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
