Slek was a water vegetable edible by humans that grew in the Orra Lagoon on the planet Eiram. The human Phan-tu Zenn, heir to Eiram, loved eating slek and the stew that was made out of it since he was young. His mother and sister also enjoyed the vegetable, and Zenn continued to love it after they died, as did his adoptive parents, Queen Adrialla and consort Odelia.[1] In 382 BBY,[2] Zenn helped with the traditional slek harvest in the lagoon. By that time, he sometimes got homesick for traditional slek stew.[1]
Behind the scenes
Slek was mentioned in Cataclysm, a novel written by Lydia Kang and published in 2023 as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase II.[3] Prior to the book's release, slek was mentioned in a preview for it.[4]
