- "Hmmm... slaur roe fresh from the swamp. Tickles the throat, it does, and the belly it fills."
- ―Luke Skywalker gives an impression of Yoda speaking about slaur roe
Slaur roe was a type of roe that could be found in the swamps of[1] the planet[2] Dagobah. It could be eaten by members of[1] exiled Jedi Grand Master[2] Yoda's species. Yoda claimed that it filled his belly but tickled his throat. When the Human Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker trained with Yoda on Dagobah, the Grand Master made him eat slaur roe as well. When Skywalker's son, Ben Skywalker, complained about the smell of the unwashed bodies of the group known as the Mind Walkers on Sinkhole Station[1] in 43 ABY,[3] Luke told him that Yoda had made him eat things that smelt worse than their current situation and did an impression of the Grand Master speaking about slaur roe.[1]
Behind the scenes
Slaur roe was mentioned in the 2009 novel Fate of the Jedi: Abyss, which was written by Troy Denning as the third installment of the Fate of the Jedi series.[1]
