Slarm (Gungan)

Rep Slarm^[1] was a Gungan, one of the many who served on Boss Rugor Nass' Council.^[2] Slarm was known as the best bubble wort engineer in Otoh Gunga.^[1] In 32 BBY^[3] such member was present at the Council during the Invasion of Nabbo^[4] sitting to the right of Nass, in particular when they first met the Jedi Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi.^[2]

Behind the scenes

Slarm made its first appearance in the novelization of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace,^[5] released on April 21, 1999,^[6] where he was simply identified as one of the Gugan Council members.^[5] It was first identified as Slarm in the 2001 roleplaying game Secrets of Naboo.^[1] The 2012 reference book Star Wars: The Phantom Menace: The Expanded Visual Dictionary confirmed him^[4] to be the the Gugan Representative sitting at the right of Rugor Nass.^[2]

In LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game and LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga only two Gugan Representatives are shown alongside Rugor Nass in the cutscenes based on Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.^[7][8] This article assumes that the one on his right is meant to be Slarm.
