- "I received a message from Mika several days ago. He had found something and told me to gather what supplies I could and join him. But there are no supplies—a mob looted the warehouse."
- ―Orgamon, on the looting of the Skydove Freight Warehouse
The Skydove Freight Warehouse was a building in the city Tel Bollin on the planet Endregaad that was operated by the shipping firm Skydove Freight during the era of the New Republic. In 19 ABY, following the outbreak of a deadly plague on Endregaad, the warehouse was looted and vandalized by a mob, and subsequently abandoned.
Description
The Skydove Freight Warehouse was an office and warehouse in the city Tel Bollin, the only major settlement on the planet Endregaad[1] in the Indrexu sector.[2] The facility was operated during the New Republic era[3] by Skydove Freight, a shipping company owned by Popara, leader of the Anjiliac Hutt clan.[1]
The building was a nondescript structure bearing the Skydove Freight company logo and was situated in the north side of Tel Bollin. The structure included a storefront window[1] and at the time of the quarantine of Endregaad[1] in 19 ABY, the windows in the building were barred.[3] While Popara's son Mika was visiting Tel Bollin, a back room of the office was setup with a dais to function as a reception area for him. The interior fittings of the office included chairs,[1] closets also desks containing electronic devices.[3]
History
Tel Bollin
- "When things became too uncomfortable in the city, I decamped with my entourage and came looking. I left Orgamon, here, back at the Skydove offices and charged him with getting word out, and waiting for help."
- ―Mika, to Mander Zuma
In 19 ABY,[3] Mika traveled to Endregaad and based himself at the Skydove Freight Warehouse. Ostensibly, Mika had ventured to Endregaad to negotiate with local geode miners, but in truth he sought to recover the cargo of a Skydove Freight vessel that had crashed on Endregaad while illicitly transporting the spice Tempest. Mika kept at the warehouse papers that detailed his business dealings with the miners.[1]
Following the outbreak of a deadly plague on Endregaad, the world was placed under quarantine by the Corporate Sector Authority and Mika became trapped on the planet. Mika departed Tel Bollin for the crash site of the stricken transport, in the planet's Temple Valley. The Skydove Freight office was emptied of its personnel and Mika's aide, the Esral'sa'Nikto Orgamon, remained behind at the warehouse to watch over it and await the arrival of help. However, a mob accusing non-Humans of responsibility for the plague broke into the Skydove Freight Warehouse, drove Orgamon out and ransacked the building. The front window was damaged and the front door was smashed open.[1] The office was vandalized[3] and stripped of anything of value that could be carried away. [1] A safe was removed[3] and smashed up datapads, datachips and crystals were left scattered across the floor.[1]
No longer safe at the warehouse, Orgamon relocated to The Fallen Warrior cantina and checked in on the Skydove Freight building once a day. Eventually, Orgamon stopped visiting at all and in red paint he daubed "Fallen Warrior" in large letters[1] in Huttese script[3] on an interior wall of the building as a message to anyone who can looking for him as to his whereabouts.[1]
The Jedi archivist Mander Zuma ventured to Endregaad at Popara's behest to rescue Mika and upon arrival in Tel Bollin, Zuma and his associates—the spacers Reen Irana and Eddey Be'ray—visited the Skydove Freight Warehouse in search of the missing Hutt. The trio found Orgamon's message and tracked down the Esral'sa'Nikto at The Fallen Warrior, then located Mika in the Temple Valley. Before departing Endregaad with Zuma, Irana and Be'ray, Mika assigned most of his Nikto entourage to remain behind in Tel Bollin and retrieve whatever they could from the Skydove Freight offices.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Skydove Freight Warehouse first appeared in the 2002 Wizards of the Coast roleplaying adventure Tempest Feud, by Jeff Grubb and Owen K.C. Stephens.[1] It later appeared in the 2012 novel Scourge, an adaptation of Tempest Feud by Jeff Grubb.[3] Tempest Feud is designed to be set in any era ranging from the reign of the Galactic Republic to the Yuuzhan Vong War and does not date the quarantine of Endregaad and desecration of the Skydove Freight warehouse,[1] however Scourge places these events in 19 ABY.[3]
Tempest Feud roleplaying outcomes
In Tempest Feud, the players roleplay as a group sent by Popara to Endregaad to rescue Mika;[1] in Scourge this role is fulfilled by Zuma, Irana and Be'ray.[3] When the player characters arrive at Endregaad in Tempest Feud and come aboard the Corporate Sector Authority Invincible-class Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser Resolute in orbit of the planet, it is possible for the players to use a hypertransceiver to attempt to reach out to the Skydove Freight Warehouse for word on Mika's whereabouts. If so, the players' communication receives no response.[1]
Once the players land in Tel Bollin, it is possible that they venture to the Skydove Freight offices looking for Mika;[1] Scourge depicts Zuma, Irana and Be'ray visiting the warehouse, making this part of official continuity.[3] After the Tempest Feud player characters locate Mika in the Temple Valley and return to Tel Bollin, Mika returns to the Skydove Freight Warehouse to recover papers on his business arrangements with Endregaad's geode miners, however if the player characters alert him that the building has been looted, he refrains from visiting and heads to the city's Miners' Guildhall instead. In the event that the player characters become stranded on Endregaad and are unable to depart the world with Mika, over the course of the next two weeks Mika supervises the clearing up of the Skydove Freight Warehouse. The group then depart the planet when the quarantine of the world is lifted.[1]
