Skiptracers were TIE fighter pilots tasked with pursuing fugitives of the Galactic Empire. They were authorized to use excessive force, and donned specialized equipment that included a distinctive flight helmet and a breastplate resembling[1] that of the Imperial officer battle armor.[2] They also wore special gloves that preserved precision in the cockpit of a TIE craft while protecting against external dangers such as fangs and vibroblades.[1]
