- "They're probably all drunk as skeezumps in the cantina."
"What in the galaxy is a skeezump?"
"You know, a skeezump, you guys don't have those where you're from?"
"We absolutely do not."
"They're all over Lateron, fuzzy-lookin' things. Somethin' about their digestion ferments everything they eat. Blitzed outta their minds all hours of the day and night. Not great pets." - ―Greez Dritus and Cal Kestis
Skeezumps were creatures found on[1] the planet[2] Lateron. They were fuzzy and had digestive systems that fermented whatever they ate, which put the creatures in a state of constant inebriation. The Stinger Mantis pilot Greez Dritus commented during a mission to infiltrate a Haxion Brood base[1] between 12 BBY and 11 BBY[3] that the Haxion Brood members were probably "drunk as skeezumps in the cantina." When Jedi Knight Cal Kestis inquired what a skeezump was, Dritus was surprised that the Jedi was unfamiliar with the creature and enthusiastically explained their appearance and biology. He then claimed that they made poor pets.[1]
Behind the scenes
Skeezumps were mentioned in the 2023 novel Jedi: Battle Scars, which was written by Sam Maggs.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- ↑ Jedi: Battle Scars dates itself to a few years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order which take place in 14 BBY per Star Wars: Timelines. Therefore, the events of Jedi: Battle Scars must take place in 12 BBY at the earliest. Additionally, the novel dates itself within the years before Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the events of which take place in 9 BBY per the reasoning here. Within Jedi: Survivor, it is also noted the Stinger Mantis crew has been broken up for "years." As the crew are together in Jedi: Battle Scars, the latest it can take place is 11 BBY. Therefore, the events of Jedi: Battle Scars occur between 12 and 11 BBY.
