Sindee was a female member of the furred Bimm species who lived during the early years of the Galactic Empire. A shrewd businesswoman, she operated a one-woman refueling station.[1] Around 15 BBY,[2] the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 ended up at the station after being ejected there from a ship bound for the world of Ord Gertoth, and Sindee became their new master. Sindee taught R2-D2 to play dejarik, but a gambling addiction the businesswoman harbored saw her lose both droids to the smuggler Zevel Hortine in a game of Liar's Cut.[1]
Behind the scenes
Sindee was first mentioned, albeit unidentified, in the 1981 Star Wars radio episode "Rogues, Rebels and Robots."[3] She was later identified by name in "The Droids Re-Animated," a blog article written by Rich Handley and Abel G. Peña that was posted on StarWars.com on June 13, 2013.[1]
