A signblimp was a type of floating vehicle bearing light emitters that broadcast advertisements. Signblimps were operated by droid pilots and their components included flotation cells and a thin heglum gas envelope. During the New Republic era, signblimps operated on the moon Nar Shaddaa bearing ads for a wide variety of services and vices.[1]
In 19 ABY, the Jedi archivist Mander Zuma and spacers Reen Irana and Eddey Be'ray came under fire on Nar Shaddaa from allies of Hutt Zonnos and several stray blaster bolts struck a signblimp. Shortly thereafter, Zuma used the Force to help himself, Irana and Be'ray board another signblimp and escape; the vessel then crashed onto a bridge. Zonnos later captured Irana and a Nar Shaddaa signblimp broadcast a message from the Hutt announcing that the spacer was to be executed.[1]
