Shishi tea was a type of tea potable by Kessarine.[1] Around 163 BBY,[2] a Jedi Master about to embark on a diplomatic mission requested that the Jedi Padawan Indara research and document a detailed history of the cultural relevance of shishi tea to the Kessarine population on the world Eriadu. Indara, who threw herself into the task without question, performed the research in the Jedi Archives in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant. Around the same time, Senator Jakob Garn sponsored the Jedi Annexation Act, which would declare the Jedi Order a branch of the Galactic Republic, but Indara was more concerned with researching shishi tea and did not hear much about it.[1]
Around 160 BBY,[2] Indara and Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh were sent to the planet Thelj to protect Garn. On the way to Thelj, Indara read up on the Jedi Annexation Act and reflected that her research into shishi tea had likely not been the best use of her time.[1]

Notes and references
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 1.6 The Acolyte: Wayseeker
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 The events of Star Wars: The Acolyte take place in 132 BBY per the reasoning here. Star Wars: The Acolyte: The Visual Guide establishes that Indara is fifty-four years old in The Acolyte and also states that she is twenty-six years old during the events of The Acolyte: Wayseeker. Therefore, the events of Wayseeker must take place around 160 BBY. The novel establishes that the Jedi Annexation Act was proposed three years before its events and that Indara had researched shishi tea at around the same time.
