- "We've got two cracked shilo pins, a damaged power converter, the engines should be fired twice to dump debris, and the backup vents need charging."
- ―Ahsoka Tano lists Jedi shuttle 634's mechanical problems
Shilo pins were a component used in starships[1] and speeders.[2] In 20 BBY,[3] after Jedi shuttle 634 crashed on the Force realm of Mortis during a mission there, Padawan Ahsoka Tano, working to repair the ship, informed Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi that the Eta-class shuttle had sustained two cracked shilo pins among other damage.[1] In 3 ABY,[4] the outlaw Kay Vess discovered a vault safehouse of the Miyuki Trade League on the planet Tatooine that she determined to be an old speeder shop, based on the presence of broken shilo pins and repulsor engines.[2]
Behind the scenes
Shilo pins were mentioned in "Ghosts of Mortis,"[1] the seventeenth episode of the third season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which premiered on February 11, 2011.[5] The pins later appeared in the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws. The player character Kay Vess notes the presence of shilo pins in a room on Tatooine, but does not specify which items she is referring to.[2]
