The Selonian worker scandal was a political scandal pertaining to laborers of the Selonian species,[1] otter-like[3] sentient[4] bipedals from the planet[4] Selonia[5] in the Core Worlds.[6] The scandal rocked the Galactic Republic[1] sometime between 40 BBY and 32 BBY,[2] during the chancellorship of Finis Valorum, and immediately preceding the blockade of Naboo,[1] a planet in the Mid Rim Territories.[7] The controversy dominated the attention of the Galactic Senate, pushing aside other discussions such as the plight of the Alvadorjians of the planet Ylagia.[1]
Around 19 BBY,[8] Senator Mon Mothma recalled how the scale of the misconduct affected the proceedings of the Senate, including the shelving of a bill she had co-sponsored to address the Alvadorjian issue.[1]

The Selonian worker scandal was mentioned in the 2025 novel Reign of the Empire: The Mask of Fear, written by Alexander Freed as the first installment of the Star Wars: Reign of the Empire trilogy.[1]
