- "I co-sponsored the bill, but it was tabled in committee. That was the year of the Selonian worker scandal, and absolutely nothing was getting to the floor that wasn't pertinent. Then there was the blockade of Naboo, and by the time that business was over, public interest in the Alvadorjian dilemma had faded. I'd moved on to the wrong committees, and no one else wanted to pick up the torch... In short, we failed. I failed. The moment passed."
- ―Mon Mothma
The Alvadorjian Senate bill was an unsuccessfull bill in the Galactic Senate during the chancellorship of Finis Valorum pertaining to the plight of the Alvadorjians of Ylagia.[1]
The Alvadorjians of Ylagia had a biological mutability that made cross-clan breeding difficult, and over time this trait had reduced the species population from 49 clans to seven.[1]
After what happened to the Yehoulta clan, popular support among youths and academics on Coruscant and Brentaal IV coalesced into an activism campaign that propelled the bill forward. The piece of legislation discussed funding the genetic repair of Alvadorjians and setting aside land for the clans on newly colonized worlds.[1]
Senator Mon Mothma co-sponsored the bill, but due to the Selonian worker scandal and the Invasion of Naboo, public interest in the matter waned, causing the bill to fail before reaching the Galactic Senate floor.[1]
The unsuccessful bill, compounded by centuries of unkept Republic promises to aid the Alvadorjians, prompted five of the seven remaining clans to join the cause of the Confederacy of Independent Systems when offered a genetic cure by Tychon Nulvolio that reportedly could take effect in five generations.[1]
