- "You like me because I'm a scoundrel. There aren't enough scoundrels in your life."
- ―Han Solo
A scoundrel was a term used for individuals who made a living by skirting regulations or breaking the law. They were generally considered to be lowly by law-abiding citizens.[1] The smuggler Han Solo identified himself as a scoundrel[2] and made a life for himself as a criminal,[3] yet his eventual wife, Leia Organa, later reflected that, at his heart, Solo was simply someone who loved freedom. Indeed, Solo was eventually brought into the fight against the Galactic Empire and First Order.[4]
