Scarlet queen's heart flower was a type of flower. During the High Republic Era, Galactic Republic Supreme Chancellor Kyong Greylark had several types of flowers from across the galaxy, including scarlet queen's heart flowers, transplanted to a temperature-and humidity-controlled hothouse on the top floor of her home on the planet Coruscant. The flowers were used to decorate the residence and were brought to Greylark's meetings so that distant ambassadors could enjoy local blooms.[1] In 382 BBY,[2] Greylark visited her hothouse and noticed the scarlet queen's heart flowers while waiting for news about her missing son, Axel Greylark.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "She grows, like in her hothouse, she grows like native plants from all the different planets so that like when people come to visit on Coruscant, like they're welcomed with something that reminds them of home."
- ―Lydia Kang
Scarlet queen's heart flowers appeared in The High Republic: Cataclysm, a 2023 novel written by Lydia Kang as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase II.[4] In an interview, Kang stated that Greylark grew plants in her hothouse that were from different planets so that visitors would be welcomed with something that reminded them of their home.[3]
