The Savarians were a cultural group of humans who called the the Outer Rim Territories planet Savareen home. They were a deeply spiritual people and lived in scattered villages, including the Pnakotic Coast village with it's Bis Refinery.[1]
After a failed uprising against a group of plundering mercenaries which later became the crime syndicate Crimson Dawn, all the Savarians villagers had their tongues cut out as retribution,[2] which forced them to speak in a sign language.[1] One of the people in the uprising was a priest, who was later venerated as a martyr.[3] Other Savarians included Krysguld Dartis, Kenholdt Ransard, Taraja Cuttsmay, Yirpa Garajon, Dhowar Repareed, Vamasto Maja, and Lanzarota Malco. The Savarians believed that dead returned to the beaches after dying. They memorialized their late loved ones in spires placed next to the ocean, which they called "soultheeth" and believed that they acted as an anchor for their spirits.[1]
