In 22 BBY,[2] when the Galactic Republic was chafing with a militant secessionist faction,[3] the Mid Rim world of Cadinth took the Republic's side. At that time, this pro-Separatist uprising took place in Cadinth's capital city, Saskapeg, culminating in the death of the planet's Jedi Watchman, Bodis-Ker Vitan. The Jedi's death prompted Cadinth's government, the Cadinth Oligarchy, to withdraw its support of the Republic, with Prime Oligarch Rankwin Fopow rescinding prior decrees and declaring that Cadinth was "firmly undecided" between the two groups.[1]
Behind the scenes
The uprising was mentioned in HoloNet News Vol. 531 #55, a[1] May 9, 2002[4] issue of the HoloNet News website. The article that references it, entitled "Cadinth Loyalty Uncertain After Jedi Death,"[1] was written by Pablo Hidalgo and Paul Ens.[5]
