Sand-rats were a species of rodent found in deserts. They were the most common target of Jimm Doshun's blaster prior to Jimm's joining the Sprites. Calling someone a sand-rat was considered an insult.[2]
Another species of sand-rat was found on Tatooine. Yet a third species of sand-rat was found on Jerne.
