- "Unfortunately, not all Ruurians are as virtuous as, for example, the famous military historian S. V. Skynx."
- ―"Species From A to Z"
S. V. Skynx was a Ruurian who was a famous military historian.[1] By between 11 BBY and 3 BBY,[2] a statue of Skynx was displayed at the University of Bar'leth on[3] the Core Worlds planet[4] Bar'leth depicting the Ruurian wearing a jacket. The statue's pedestal had their last name written in[3] Aurebesh text.[4] During that time,[2] the university students Chelli Lona Aphra, Eustacia Okka, and Sana Starros walked behind the statue when they took the newly enrolled student Kho Phon Farrus to break into the office of Sava Iglan'tine Nos, intending to steal artifacts from her office.[3]
In 3 ABY,[5] Farrus returned to the university to find the Spark Eternal—an artifact of the Ascendant[3] cult[4]—and walked past Skynx's statue.[3] During the New Republic Era, New Republic Captain Carson Teva sent out a survival compendium titled "Species From A to Z," which included a mention of Skynx. In the compendium, it was claimed that other Ruurians were not as virtuous as the historian.[1]
Behind the scenes
S. V. Skynx appeared in the current Star Wars canon as a statue in the nineteenth issue of the 2020 comic series Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, where they were identified by their surname. The issue was written by Alyssa Wong, illustrated by Minkyu Jung, and published by Marvel Comics[3] on March 23, 2022.[6] The historian's full name was later provided in the "Database" department of the 114th issue of the Star Wars - Das offizielle Magazin series. The issue was published by Panini[1] on June 25, 2024.[7]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the scholar S. V. Skynx[8] first appeared in Han Solo and the Lost Legacy, a 1980 novel written by Brian Daley as the final installment of the Star Wars: The Han Solo Adventures trilogy. In the novel, he was identified as Skynx.[9] The character's full name was later provided in the Hyperspace article "Xim Week: The History of Xim and the Tion Cluster," written by Jason Fry and published on StarWars.com on December 7, 2009.[8]
