The Ryyk kerarthorr was a type of Ryyk blade, single-edged swords that were the traditional melee weaponary of the planet Kashyyyk's Wookiee species, who used them to cut down both thick jungle and enemies alike. The kerarthorr functioned more like a tonfa than the more standard curved machete or scythe-like Ryyk blade designs.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the Ryyk kerarthorr was mentioned in the 2019 Star Wars Roleplaying supplement Gadgets and Gear, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games.[1] The kerarthorr originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the 1997 reference book The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, which was written by Bill Smith.[2]
