The Ryndellia system,[4] also known as the Kaliida system,[6] was a star system[4] located within the Ryndellian sector of the Mid Rim[1] which contained Ryndellia and the Kaliida Shoals Medical Center.[4]
History
During the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the Subjugator-class heavy cruiser Malevolence attacked a medical convoy of Pelta-class frigates here. The Malevolence later staged an attack on the nearby Kaliida Shoals Medical Center, which was foiled by Anakin Skywalker and Shadow Squadron.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Ryndellia system first appeared in "Shadow of Malevolence,"[4] the third episode of the first season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, which aired on October 10, 2008.[7] Although the episode placed the Kaliida Shoals Medical Center in the Ryndellia system, the maps and star system appendixes of The Essential Atlas and its Online Companion incorrectly placed Ryndellia and Kaliida Shoals in two different systems.[5][1]
