- "I'm right behind you, Chio… and the Empire is right behind me."
- ―Rone to Chio Fain, above Ryarten
Ryarten was an astronomical object that appeared green from space[3] that was located in the Ryarten system within the Corthenia sector of the Mid Rim[1] and New Territories.[2] It was situated in grid square K-7 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1]
In 6 BBY,[4] the slicers Chio Fain and Rone were pursued by TIE fighters of the Galactic Empire above Ryarten after they attempted to undertake a job that involved slicing into Imperial property. Rone was shot down and killed while attempting to distract the Imperial fighters, giving Fain a chance to escape into hyperspace.[3]
Behind the scenes
Ryarten appeared via flashbacks in the fourth issue of the 2019 Star Wars: Target Vader comic miniseries. The issue was written by Robbie Thompson, illustrated by Stefano Landini, and published by Marvel Comics[3] on October 9, 2019.[5]
