- "The planet Rize is famous for its perfectly geometric carbon glaciers and its inhabitants suicidal work ethic."
- ―TC-99 reads from Oolon's Star Almanac
Rize was a fictious planet that was listed in Oolon's Star Almanac, a record of thousands of made-up star systems and their inhabitants written by the author Oolon and stored on data-tapes. The almanac described the world as being famous for having perfectly geometric carbon glaciers and for the suicidal work ethic of its inhabitants. Shortly after the formation of the Galactic Empire[1] in 19 BBY,[2] Colonel Halland Goth of the Emperor's Royal Guard and his TC-series protocol droid TC-99 came to possess the Almanac and read through the entries as an amusing diversion.[1] Later that year,[3] TC-99 read the entry on Rize while Goth was away on a mission to the planet Diso. The droid paused his work tinkering with the FX-series medical assistant droid FX-6's droid matrix to consider the almanac's assessment of Rize's inhabitants and decided that they would be proud of the hard work he had done on the matrix.[1]
