TC-series protocol droid

The TC-series protocol droid was a model of protocol droid manufactured by Cybot Galactica.^[1] The predecessor of^[7] the popular 3PO-series, it had the same overall appearance and size as that model, but presented a few differences: notably, the manufacturer advertised TC units as being cooler and more unflappable than their 3PO cousins.^[1]

One TC unit designated TC-14 served the Trade Federation onboard the Lucrehulk-class LH-3210 cargo freighter Saak'ak during the Invasion of Naboo.^[4] Another TC unit was TC-4, who had a connection to the Sith.^[8] TC-70 served the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure as a translator during the Clone Wars.^[5] A TC unit designated TC-326^[9] served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars and was made Archduke Poggle the Lesser's translator following his capture by Republic forces during the Second Battle of Geonosis.^[6] A TC unit designated TC-99 "Nines" was the friend of Colonel Halland Goth of the Emperor's Royal Guard during the early days of the Galactic Empire, who supplied sol-nitro for Goth's Kangly's syndrome and was fluent in 2.7 million forms of communication.^[7]
